When it's warm enough to enjoy the out-of-doors in late November, in Wisconsin, you take it and walk with it. Our Sunday stroll with Augustus was much appreciated and because the Green Bay Packers were playing the Minnesota Vikings at the time, we had the streets all to ourselves! Well, almost...the other boys in blue were navigating the streets too. The rookie cops who drew the short end of the stick no doubt!

1 p.m. Post-Church. Broken shell of a 4 month old.

Three hours of Church meetings can take its toll on the sanest of human beings. Collectively, we believe our family is no exception. The only difference is that while the adults grin and bear it, baby Augustus wears it, on his oxford onesie sleeve. Poor Gussie!

When it comes to Gus, a little face time, with himself, goes a long way. Who can blame him? He never tires of his own jokes and stories, everyone is a winner in the staring contest and those Vanilla Ice dance moves never lose their ninja RAP!

It's Tryout!

We needed to test Augustus' tolerance of uncomfortable accessories and apparel as his first Hallowe'en draws near. Overall, we feel he played the role of shy and depressed, tennis player-teddy bear with maturity and grace and he showed no signs of fear in front of the camera. This bodes well for what is in store this October 31st!

A Wonderful Weekend!

We are reaching back into the past a bit, but we wanted to express our gratitude for both sets of Grandparents and my Aunt Carmen for the role they played in honoring Augustus on his blessing day. My dear Aunt Carmen gave us the unbelievable outfit that Augustus wore! She bought the piece 25 years ago and was saving it for a future son. Coincidentally, when that son arrived in Saudi Arabia (Johnny B), the outfit was in storage across the ocean! It is hard to effectively describe the pale blue cotton batiste, the hand-sewn detailing or the tiniest buttons in production...it is all pure vintage bliss to the eyes and fingertips! And all perfectly preserved and now forever a token of Gus' day. Thank you Aunt Carmen! Lastly, we want to make specific mention of a VERY special Aunt Janae that couldn't attend, but wanted nothing more.

A day to celebrate

Well it is our 4th anniversary today and we felt like we should post a picture of Gus in honor of four years of marriage. A little piece of trivia: on August 19th, 40 BC Octavius was elected Consul of Rome. He later became known as Augustus. In his honor, he named the 8th month of the year August. Here is to many more august Augusts with Augustus with us!
